I believe it is your right to decide what age is best for a newborn photo shoot.
I absolutely love capturing those very early moments of life, but I completely understand the challenges and stresses new parents face. I remember the early weeks after my daughter’s birth... Well, no, truth be told, I don’t remember much at all! It would’ve been more of a “zombiestyle” shoot than a lifestyle one!

On top of that, my daughter experienced birth trauma, so we ended up needing surgery shortly after we came back home (thankfully, nothing too daunting; everything went well). And our first photoshoot with a photographer didn’t happen until she was around two months old.

As a newborn photographer, I’ve never agreed with this age restrictions for newborn photography, only the first 14 days, bla bla bla. Sure, the first days of new life are intense, incredible, and yes, they will never be repeated. I always admire the strength of those parents who bring me into their lives at this moment to have the opportunity to remember this whole range of new experiences, emotions and feelings! But there are so many stories, processes, and yes, challenges behind the scene. That’s why I’m more than happy to photograph babies at any age, whenever your family feels ready to invite a photographer into your home to share your story.
